BariKeto FAQs
  1. Can I eat Bariatric Keto if I've had my gallbladder removed?
According to medical journals, over 80% of WLS patients will either have their gallbladders removed in the first year post-surgery, or have already had them removed prior to surgery.   When you see your surgeon ask if you should be on digestive enzymes. They are typically recommended outside the US, but rarely by US doctors.    Digestive enzymes come in 2 forms, animal and plant based.  Many of our members use them to avoid GI issues such as IBS.  Bariatric Keto is a GREAT eating protocol post surgery for you.  It's high protein  and moderate fat.  Normal Keto protocols are high fat and low protein, which would not deliver the nutrition a WLS body needs.

2. I am interested in doing bariatric keto. As a vegetarian it is hard for me.  I agree.  Getting the nutrition you require while WLS and vegetarian can be a challenge!  One of our moderators is Vegetarian.
I suggest you join our Facebook forum and purchase a 1:1 with Elyse Beth.  She is vegan and a trainer.  She'll be able to offer you insights on BariKeto and how to get the protein you need without consuming a lot of carbs.

3.   Hi I’m just 3 weeks post op and scared. I seem hungry and can eat way more than most. Should I wait till on solids to make that 1 on 1 appointment?
If you're eating more than you should now - you're going to out eat your surgery.  And chances are it's head hunger you're falling prey to, although it can seem like real hunger until you learn the difference.  You are in a CRITICAL period right now.  Your surgery honeymoon period.  You can't get this back - even with a second surgery.  You have ONE CHANCE to maximize your weight loss - and that's your honeymoon period.
Please consider purchasing the Weight Loss Surgery Success ebook along with your 1:1.  You'll learn how to eat low carb for each week post-surgery.  You'll also learn about head hunger and what to do to get rid of it.
I'd also suggest joining our Presurgery - 8 weeks post-op facebook group.
